The Peru Trip
Part 2

Report from Peter Ortiz, M.D.

Our second visit to Macchu Pichu, which seems now like ages ago, took place the following day. Despite the concern by authorities that our group was blocking the flow of pedestrian traffic we were allowed to finish an elaborate ceremony by our dear shaman, Don Manuel. When rain threatened in the early afternoon we retreated to the thermal baths of Aguas Calientes. After returning to Cuzco we bid farewell to our gentle and informative guide, Don Pedro.

The following day found us on a bus ride to Altiplano where we blessed the flow of pure spring waters with another native ceremony by gently dropping flower petals into the stream. Extraterrestrial contact was the topic of the day in an area where there have been
many sightings. No, we did not see any visible spacecraft but several felt the presence of our space brothers and sisters. We placed our heads into the remaining echo chambers of the temple ruins and chanted mantras that created an eerie resonance throughout the site.
The morning activities prepared our appetites for a delightful meal that awaited us nearby.

Vivacocha was next with a wonderful meditation before returning to the Toypikala Hotel, our local headquarters in Puno. We were impressed with the hotel design and architecture that reflected the eclectic beliefs of the owner, Jorge Luis Delgedo ... whose wife, that very day, presented him with a new baby daughter.

We reached Lake Titicaca the following day and took a boat ride to one of the many floating islands made from reeds by the Uros natives. There we admired one of their manmade islands measuring from one to three meters in depth and composed of woven reeds. We bounced happily about upon the spongy surface enjoying this unique lifestyle
and purchasing some of their beautiful handmade crafts.

Then came unforgettable Amantani, a mountain island, also on Lake Titicaca, where we met new guides, Benedicta and Toribio. After a delicious luncheon of fresh fish prepared by the local inhabitants we climbed to the temple of Pachtata for a big ceremony. How we made it back down the mountain in total darkness was nothing short of a miracle. But, make it back safely we did, in time to join the rest of the group at a beautiful bonfire. Our spirits were very high as we danced to ancient Peruvian music performed by our hosts on hand crafted instruments. Finally, exhausted from the day's events, we were welcomed into individual native homes for a night we will never forget! There seemed to be many moonlight adventures throughout the night ... NO INDOOR PLUMBING!

The return boat trip included a flower ceremony at sea. Our hosts had fashioned a flower lei from local blossoms for each of us. We followed their traditional custom as we tossed them one by one onto the lake. I will never forget the shocked expression of our Peruvian sailors when two of our group donned swim suits and suddenly jumped into the cold water. The natives considered it quite dangerous but for German born Christiana and Wolfgang it was simply a refreshingly cool swim. After arriving on shore we boarded a bus and headed for the Bolivian border. Through high diplomatic exchanges choreographed by Spirit Most High (plus a few U.S. dollars) we were able to escort Singapore's lovely Selina across the Bolivian border. Those traveling with a Singapore passport are usually denied entry. Here we were met by our German speaking guide, Luis, who led our exhausted crew to the hotel, Copacabana.

Our next adventure was a boat trip to the islands of the Sun and Moon where more native ceremonies were performed by Manuel and the group. After arriving back on shore we boarded our bus and made a mad dash against the approaching darkness to reach a ferry boat ( the only means for crossing the lake) to reach the road leading to our hotel. The last ferry had shut down for the day so we had to rouse someone to make a special trip to transport us in the dark. Watching as our huge bus floated across the lake only a few inches above the water was something else! We arrived safely thinking the worse was over until we suddenly discovered our flat tire! With no service stations in the darkened countryside we continued to drive upon the flat tire until we finally arrived in La Paz to join the rest of the group. It seems a few had chosen to hire a taxi and go ahead on their own during the daylight hours rather than waiting for our return. All sorts of treatments were administered to our foot sore and weary group!

Then the world came to a stop! We will never forget our shopping excursion where others heard us speaking English and asked if we were Americans. We answered yes and stood in utter shock as they informed us that our country was under attack from terrorists. We found it impossible to believe until we saw the television monitors. That evening we cried and prayed more than ever that our efforts to raise the consciousness on the planet might succeed. The bus tour of La Paz and Moon Valley afforded us more time to reflect upon what had happened in America and the reality soon dawned that our world would never again be the same. It was a subdued group that gathered that evening for dinner.

The next day we managed to regroup and visit the museum and ruins of the temple at Tigrenacu under the expert guidance of Luis. And then it was back to Peru with no blocks this time. That evening Isa and Yolanda introduced the group to the book Power Vs. Force by Dr. David Hawkins, M.D., PhD. In it, the author presents a scientific explanation of the process of Kinesiology ... so well demonstrated by Isa and Yolanda in their everyday lives and teachings. It offers a Map of Consciousness showing the various levels of human development from a destructive to a constructive base with an upward progression that culminates in illumination. It suggests that the average level of Consciousness upon our planet has only in recent years crossed over into the constructive mode. A very small percentage of individuals who register a high degree of constructive consciousness continues to elevate the masses who still function in a destructive mode. This book clearly defines the difference between REAL POWER that is based upon unconditional love for all of life, versus FORCE that is based upon fear and punishment. FORCE is based upon physical principals of RETALIATION whereas REAL POWER is based upon spiritual principals of TRANSFORMATION. Our group was in great need of Releasing so a workshop was held the following morning in the hotel.

The last gathering saw a local shaman read the coca leaves for some of the group. Once more we felt the oxygen deficit that always accompanied us at these high elevations. Then, one more visit to the Incan ruins, one last ceremony and a loving farewell to dear Manuel
and Jorge Luis.

Under heavy security our beloved companions of the South American tour dispersed in different directions promising to meet again when the call comes from Yolisa. This trip was an awesome healing and awakening experience we will never forget! We remember with love and gratitude all of those those who made it possible. And so it is!
